About ICT and
Education
On the Learning Lab site information can be
found about the recent developments in view and policy, results
of research and a selection of experiences of the users.
The information offered is tremendous, too
much for the average UM-user (our target group). The selection
made on the basis of the criteria of quality, educational
relevance and interfaces with UM-specific education matters, are
presented in the following sections.
1. Working with EleUM
Within the framework of EleUM, the new Electronic learning environment of Universiteit Maastricht that is based on Blackboard, Learning Lab gives support for the didactic embedding of ICT in education at UM, while also evaluating the implementation process and consumer use of this new learning environment.
In this section you can find information that is useful in the
realization of the UM-policy, in which not the technique takes a
central point, but the use of the technique within the context
of a view on the connection between education and learning.
2. Collaborative learning
This section pays attention to the progress in the area of
CSCL (Computer Supported
Collaborative Learning) from a didactical point of view of
the use of ICT (the direct support of the learning process).
Emphasized is the use of electronical communication by students
and docents during learning.
Also interesting
links about collaborative learning and ICT are to be found in
this section.
